Drawing Course at Kew Artists' Studios, from 11 Sept 2018, 6 Tuesdays 7.15-9.15pm. Materials included.
Suitable for those with a little previous drawing experience, as well as more advanced artists, this course will support you in exploring observational drawing techniques, with the aim of progressive skill development. Each session starts with a structured technical warm-up exercise, followed by the opportunity to apply techniques using a choice of visual resources. As much or as little tutor support as required is available.
A different subject will be studied each half term, providing transferable techniques across still life to wildlife, landscapes and the human figure. Techniques include effective use of line, form, perspective, proportion, shadow, colour and layout. Media included are soft pencils, charcoal, pastels and inks, used separately or mixed. NB: Student membership is a prerequisite to taking up a place on a Kew Studio course. Fees are £10 per year or £5 per term. Student membership includes opportunities for taking part in studio exhibitions and management meetings among other things.
